Glass decor is nothing new. But not all glass items are created the same. Some are machine-made and look identical. Others, like hand blown glass balls, are shaped by skilled hands and fire. This makes each piece one of a kind.
At Worldly Goods Too, every glass ball tells its own story. Created in a small workshop in Mexico, each sphere is crafted from recycled glass. Much of this glass once held tequila. Now it shines in homes as bright and bold decor. These pieces are made using age-old methods passed down through generations.
Unlike factory-made glass, our balls carry small marks and bubbles. These are not flaws. They are signs that real people made them with care. This adds value and soul to your decor.
Hand Blown vs Regular Glass Balls
So what is the real difference between glass balls and the ones made in bulk?
Regular glass balls are shaped in molds. Machines do most of the work. The result is smooth and perfect. But also cold and lifeless. Every piece looks the same. That may work for mass production, but not if you want your space to feel warm and unique.
On the other hand, large hand blown glass balls are made without molds. A skilled artisan gathers molten glass on a pipe and blows air into it. This shapes the ball by hand. Because of this, no two pieces are ever the same. You can even see slight color changes and air bubbles that give each one its charm.
In short, regular glass may fill a space, but hand blown glass brings it to life.
Wall Art with a Twist
Most people think of glass balls as ornaments for a table or shelf. At Worldly Goods Too, we use them to decorate walls.
Our glass balls are part of wall assortments. These are curated sets of spheres that turn a plain wall into a piece of art. The balls are not hung by thread. Instead, they are mounted directly on the wall. This keeps the design clean and bold.
These glass wall sets work great in living rooms, hallways, or even offices. Each set brings color and light into the room. They reflect the surroundings and shift with the light during the day.
Every wall assortment is arranged to match a natural flow. So even though each ball is unique, the full set feels balanced and complete.
Our Packing Is Now 100 Percent Organic
For thirty years, we packed our glass using shredded newspaper from The Charlotte Observer. It was a smart way to reuse waste. But as print media faded, so did our paper supply.
So what now?
We went back in time to move forward. We now pack our spheres in clean, organic hay. That is right. Just like the old days. Hay offers great protection and is fully compostable. It smells fresh and it works. No need for plastic or foam.
We think it is a smart solution. It also fits our mission of reuse and natural materials. And yes, it makes the unboxing feel even more earthy and real.
Let us know what you think about the switch. We hope you enjoy the extra touch of nature in every box.
Choosing the Right Size and Set
When picking glass decor, size matters. Glass balls are bold and ideal for bigger walls or rooms with lots of light. Smaller ones are great for tighter spaces or as accent pieces.
We offer sets in many colors and sizes. Some sets are bright and vivid. Others are soft and subtle. Each one is put together with care, so you can be sure the tones will work well together.
Whether you want a splash of color or a full glass wall, we have a set for you. And since all our glass is handmade, you are getting more than decor. You are getting craftsmanship.
The Bottom Line
At Worldly Goods Too, we believe that art belongs in every home. Our hand blown glass balls are more than decor. They are pieces of handmade tradition. Formed by fire and crafted by hand, each ball brings beauty and character to your space.
We do not use threads or wires to hang them. Instead, we focus on clean wall-mounted displays that show off the pure shape and color of the glass.
From recycled tequila bottles to organic hay packing, every step of our process is thoughtful. And every piece you buy supports skilled artisans in Mexico.
